Day 6 of 30 Poems/30 Days

‘The Fight’
When two fighters become one,
just a blur of flesh and bone.
The sound of their ribs brushing,
with two hearts but one breath.

The men touch like twins in the womb,
fists kissing flesh,
feet tracing the ring’s edges,
like the line between water and earth.

Round and round,
orbiting one another;
his sun to his moon,
along the fleeting horizon.

  1. This is a beautiful insight into the mundane, everywhere present, deafening sounds of fighting. Your poetry is wonderful. I have read several of your poems posted earlier here.
