Day 26 of 30 Poems/30 Days

‘My 2nd’

I am the poet
stuck in this poem,
a boy hunting for his twin.

And when I find him
we’ll roam this land,
the blue heaven above,
racing the sun to the end.

He says:
“I am a pointed gun,
the barrel searching like a finger,
hunting for your fear.”

He says:
“I am the second,
and you are my first,
like two horses together
in the harness.”

He says:
“Even though we are two,
our movement and breath,
moves like kinship.”
