Day 31 of 50 Poems/50 Days

‘Last Time’

Playing these games
as children,
I’d never remember
her name.

She danced, on tiptoes,
in and out
of my shadow.

But this time
I forget the year
she took her time –

Playing my heart
along the lungs,
down the limbs,
past last time again.
